Most people flocking to mastodon did not understand the philosophy of the fediverse, they were just looking for a twitter replacement. For building a web presence, mastodon is a terrible app, built not to be something original but an imitation of the toxic culture that is Twitter/X

@SK Even more hilarious when you consider that Misskey and all the Forkeys are actually closer in UX to the Birdcage than Mastodon that tried so hard to clone it. Not in philosophy, but in UX.
